With you

Your kit arrives

We send you your collection kit well before the due date, which contains everything you need to collect the sample (make sure you take it with you to the hospital on the big day). In case you forget your collection kit, don’t panic! We have collaborations with most hospitals across the region, which gives us the privilege of storing additional emergency kits.

Collection, after birth

After birth, your trained consultant will extract the sample, and place it back into the collection kit.

Arrival check

Check your sample is healthy and viable for future use.

Processing

Process your sample to concentrate the number of stem cells stored into multiple portions for future use.

Counted and confirmed

Double check the health of the sample and count the number of stem cells extracted, to make sure it’s ready and viable should it ever be needed in the future. The umbilical cord blood report will be provided in 5 working days.

Cryopreservation

Your baby’s sample is then cryogenically frozen in the vapour phase of liquid nitrogen, stored in different tanks in over 6 to 8 compartments.

Culture, if you need it

You want your sample for treatment! In our laboratory your baby’s stem cells will undergo a process called CELL CULTURING to expand the Stem cells under controlled conditions, ready for you to use.
